Lightning

Addition to the Barn
Larry and Brent added 12 foot to the lean-to. They also put in a door .... this way Larry can feed the horse without getting wet and Lightning has something more to get up under to protect him from the weather. No nice when the weather is nasty outside!

Lime for the Pasture
Larry took a soil sample and sent it off to Mississippi State - the report said we needed lime on the pasture. Larry took the report up to the Co-op and Charlie Robertson came out and spreaded $213 worth! Hope the grass comes up and grows next summer!

Fertilizer for the Pasture
On Thursday, March 3, 2011 Larry went to the Coop and bought some fertilizer for the pasture. Hopefully after the really dry, drought this past year - with the fertilizer the grass will come back out. It started raining the next day and was suppose to rain all weekend so that should really help it. Hope so! Lightning said.....forget this fertilizer stuff.... I want to EAT!

Spring Like Day in January, 2011
It rained a lot the first of the week and the pasture was so sloppy and wet. But it was a picture perfect Saturday with the temp around 70.
All About Lightning
I have a couple of photo programs on my computer and kind of played around with this picture.
When Larry got the ok to ride his tractor after his back surgery, he started working on building this small pond. He dug it and then the drought set it and it seemed like forever before it rained enough to put some water in it.

Top Over Water Trough
Larry built this top over the water trough to help keep it a little cooler in these hot summer days.
