On Thursday, March 3, 2011 Larry went to the Coop and bought some fertilizer for the pasture. Hopefully after the really dry, drought this past year - with the fertilizer the grass will come back out. It started raining the next day and was suppose to rain all weekend so that should really help it. Hope so! Lightning said.....forget this fertilizer stuff.... I want to EAT!

Spring Like Day in January, 2011
It rained a lot the first of the week and the pasture was so sloppy and wet. But it was a picture perfect Saturday with the temp around 70.
All About Lightning
I have a couple of photo programs on my computer and kind of played around with this picture.
When Larry got the ok to ride his tractor after his back surgery, he started working on building this small pond. He dug it and then the drought set it and it seemed like forever before it rained enough to put some water in it.

New Watering Trough
All that's left now is scrap metal that we have to take and sell.
Larry worked really hard on cleaning out this back of the shed so he could build stables for the horses. He has it all cleaned out now!
Larry went to Tractor Supply in Forest on Saturday, June 5th and got this for the horses. It has an automatic float that keeps the water level full. Now we're going to have to build a top over it to keep the water from getting so hot.
Molly loves to go to the barn and really likes the horses.
Lightning and Jewell "mowing" down the grass on the hillside.

The Green, Green Grass of Home!
Got a pretty good stand of grass..... the horses eats all of the grass on the banks and leaves all this other grass. Sooner or later they will have to move on to the grass in the middle.

Larry hauled in some dirt to keep rain from standing in front of the stable door. After a rain, he said he thought he still needed some more dirt. May 11, 2010
